Erica Hamilton, Assistant Director of Student Support Services, is entering her 8th year at E.L. Haynes. She began as a special education teacher, leading the B.A.S.E. program, transitioned to the role of the Behavior Interventionist, and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Support Services. In addition to her role as an administrator, Erica has been the head coach of the E.L. Haynes Girls Varsity Basketball team for the past seven years. Since 2005, Erica has been working with youth in various settings, such as mentoring programs, detention centers, alternative schools, and charter schools throughout Richmond, VA, and Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of Virginia Union University, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice, with a concentration on juvenile justice. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Science in Restorative Practices at IIRP, with Spring 2021 being her expected date of graduation.

Brittany Grow is a long time educator and mother who is passionate about finding the right systems and data supports to help students with IEPs, dually identified students, and multilingual learners. Brittany started her education career in 2007 in DC and has served as a general education teacher, MLL teacher, dually identified teacher and MLL coach before transitioning into the Assistant Director role. Brittany holds a master’s degree from George Washington University in Special Education and Human Development for culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
Brittany is passionate about multi-tiered systems of support and specially designed instruction to support learners. She is always learning and loves to collaborate with others to find the best support for our learners! She loves reading at all hours of the day and seeing how she can transfer her love of learning to students and her own children.
