We will continue our virtual instructional program through the end of Quarter 3 (April 9, 2021), while also continuing our limited in-person opportunities.
Over the last few weeks, we launched in-person play groups at our elementary school, as well as a supportive learning space for a small number of high school students. It has been so great to see students back in our buildings. Heading into Winter Break, I am so hopeful for the year to come. 2020 was difficult for many of us.
As we continue to plan for this unique school year, we want to share with you that we made our decision about how we will facilitate student learning in Quarter 3 (February 1 – April 9, 2021).
We will continue our virtual instructional program through the end of Quarter 3 (April 9, 2021), while also continuing our limited in-person opportunities.
Our commitment to the health and safety of our community drove this decision. We see the substantial rise in COVID cases, both nationally and locally. We also heard your feedback, and feedback from staff sharing your concerns about returning to in-person learning. We believe this is the best decision for our community and share it now so you and your families will know what’s happening in the first few months of the new year.
When we return in January, we will launch campus-based working groups to plan for continued and new in-person experiences in Quarter 3, as well as plan for the remainder of the school year. Your voices will be critical to our planning, and there will be opportunities for families to provide feedback.
